4 Tips For SUV Owners
SUV’s are popular amongst drivers everywhere. A lot of people would like a nice truck or large SUV. Along with a nice big vehicle comes with responsibility. SUV’s are great for families, there’s lots of room and lots of power. They’re also great for vacations, hauling big items, and more. Although they are great vehicles, SUV owners need to keep in mind certain things when they pull out of their driveway every day. Here are a few tips to help:
1. Check the gas Larger vehicles can guzzle gas, knowing a few tips to save gas can help exponentially. Some things you can do to save gas are watching the speed limit. Speeding can use a lot of gas. Keep up with car maintenance, making sure everything is up to date with your vehicle, the engine, tires, etc. Move any items that can add extra weight in the vehicle, extra weight will make the engine work harder thus using more gas. Shutting off the engine while waiting for friends or something. Leaving it running can definitely use more gas than needed.
2. Be careful when turning With larger vehicles you must turn with caution, whether a U-turn, turning the corner, etc. SUV’s and trucks are higher lifted than smaller cars and if you turn to sharply the tires can loose traction and lift and you’ll end up flipping your vehicle. So when you approach a corner, slow down and gradually turn.
3. Braking  Along with being careful while turning, being cautious when braking is a must as well. SUV can weigh 2-3 times more than a typical car which can mean longer braking times. You’ll have to time it just right and be aware are the distance between you and the car in front of you. Slowly and gradually brake before you reach the traffic light or anything else that would need you to stop.  Click here to read the full post.
