The 25th annual American Century Championship is the premier event in celebrity golf. Since the first Tahoe South tee off, this event has raised funds and awareness for national and local charities. The Institute was established in 1994 through the extraordinary generosity of cancer survivors Mr. Stowers and his wife, Virginia, who dedicated their personal fortune to improving human health through basic research.

Like the dedication and discipline athletes seeking success on the course, American Century Investment is committed to helping their clients succeed way beyond the tournament, delivering results to their clients all them to distribute more than 40% of the profits to support the Stowers Institute for Medical Research , established by founder the late James Stowers Jr. Since 2000, total dividend payments to the institution were over $1 billion. Now that’s what they call Profits with a Purpose!

Notable discoveries from the Institute’s laboratories appear regularly in the leading peer-review journals in biomedicine. Stowers’ scientists have quickly established the Institute’s international reputation for highest quality basic research aimed at finding answers to some of the most important questions of human biology, health, and disease at the BioMed Valley Discoveries.
