The east coast of Florida includes the popular and loved Daytona Beach. Daytona Beach provides a large range of fun activities for the family, dining places, clubs and more, and of course 23 wonderful miles of soft white sanded beaches.
The beautiful sandy beaches are open to pedestrians 24/7 with designated parking from sunrise to sunset. Daytona Beaches are a perfect choice for every vacation, featuring many motels, hotels, condo rentals, kid friendly options, great for couples, etc, some to fit every family’s needs. There are so many free things to do in Daytona Beach with plenty of outdoor fun.
Along with the sparkly white sandy beaches Daytona Beach offers a variety of attractions for everyone. Like the Daytona International Speedway, deep sea fishing, or the new Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art. Among other family activities and attractions there is sure to be something that’ll fit your family’s vacation needs, or a romantic getaway. If you haven’t been to Daytona Beach, I hope you make plans soon! You’re missing out!
Daytona Beach is actually known to be the festival capital of Florida, being the area that hosts more than 50 festivals a year, during this time of year it makes it the best time to visit when the Fall Festivals are going on.
A great festival to keep in mind is the Greek Festival. For about 40 years the annual St. Demetrios Greek Festival has featured authentic traditional Greek food, dancing, music, and tributes. Held every November, this multi-day community event is free and open to the public, attend it at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in of course Daytona Beach.
During this festival traditional Greek music plays throughout while the church’s Saint Demetrios Dancers perform folk dances in traditional costumes. Not only can you enjoy wonderful entertainment with your family or friends you can as well fill your tummy with genuine Greek food created from family recipes such as fried calamari, gyros, stuffed grape leaves and more. Can’t forget about the sweet treats available as well! Semolina Pudding, baklava, and more!
You can also visit their marketplace and purchase things such as jewelry, crafts, and Greek themed gifts. Something to take home in remembrance of your wonderful trip to the Greek Festival at Daytona Beach. I will definitely think about planning a family trip to Daytona Beach to attend the Greek Festival, it’ll be a great family bonding moment; trying new foods and buying interesting gifts to take home and show friends.
Not only will this festival be great for the whole family you can even visit it with a loved one for a romantic getaway, try authentic Greek foods, relax together in the coffeehouse and sip wine at one of the beautiful riverfront tables.
