Residents of New York State can now complete a preliminary Food Stamp screening tool online. All you have to do is complete a simple, fast, and anonymous online application and you’ll receive immediate feedback concerning your eligibility. You can also print out a Food Stamp application, get relevant contact information, and find out lots more about the Food Stamp Program.

The Food Stamp Program is not welfare! It is a Federal Program to help families and individuals, both working and unemployed to meet their food needs.Food Stamps can be used at the following places:
- Supermarkets
- Small grocery stores
- Farmers’ market
- Eligibility is based on income and resources in certain circumstances.
- Resources may be excluded for certain households.
- You can own a car or a house and still qualify!
WIC
WIC is a federal program that provides food vouchers for pregnant women, breastfeeding women and non-breastfeeding women up to six months after delivery. Infants and children up to 5 years old are also eligible. WIC vouchers are used at participating local food stores for items such as milk, cheese, eggs, juice, cereal, and infant formula. Eligibility is based on income and Nutritional risk. To apply to be a WIC participant, you will need to contact your State or local agency to set up an appointment. Check out your State’s website or call the toll-free number. When you call to set up an appointment, someone will tell you the location nearest your home and what you need to bring with you.
FREE School Meals
Your school children may be eligible for free or reduced price school lunch and breakfast every school day in all public schools. Call your childrens school to apply.
CHOW Pantries For a referral to one of the 30 CHOW Pantries, call First Call For Help by dialing 2-1-1 from a landline phone or call 1-800-901-2180. You may access a CHOW pantry 12 times a year with 4 weeks between each referral.
Food distributions will take place rain or shine.
