Iron Chef America Cuisine Review

Iron Chef  America Cuisine combines competition, creativity and the art of cooking. You don’t have to be an amazing chef to bring good food to the table. There is an Iron Chef that lives in us all. Based on Japan’s original TV series, the American version by Food Network Iron Chef  America is a weekly culinary battle between chefs from near and far against one of its own Iron Chefs. They only have an hour on the clock, and a panel of tough judges taste their meals and decide “Whose Cuisine Will Reign Supreme?”.

Ironchefamerica.tv sent me over a few meals to try out in exchange for my honest opinion.

  1. Szechuan chicken is awful!!!! Throw it away after I had a few bites. As a Chinese, let me tell you, we never put such huge ginger cubes in food!!!!!

  2. The butter chicken was just awful. The “premium” chicken looked like flattened out jerky and it tasted like jerky. The dish was bland and the veggies tasted old and like cardboard. Highly disappointed at the lack of quality. Dish was inedible except for the rice which was decent. And it cost nearly 14 dollars! Gee!

  3. I just tried the Butter Chicken and was so disappointed! I had been looking forward to this meal for a while, figuring that if anyone could market a fabulous frozen meal it would be Food Network and Iron Chef. 🙁

Butter Chicken is not usually a highly spiced dish, but the sauce was bland, with little curry taste. I expected a touch of heat (spiciness) since the meal was rated 2 out of 4 peppers, but I found it very mild – and I am not in anyway one of those people who love spiciness to extremes.

That being said, it was still better than many other frozen meals I had tried in the past. It did have real sliced chicken and veggies! I may try some of the others, just to give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I ask too much of my frozen dinners…

  6. It is definitely finding something that everyone likes.

The hardest part is trying to find something my husband likes and what I like, he was raised on fried foods, and I love salads, chicken, fruit, it is always hard for me to find a between and most of the time I lose, lol

These look delicious and I cannot wait to look for them in the store. I may have to ask them to order them for me. My husband loves sweet and sour chicken and this one looks so awesome!!! You sure made frozen food look great! I want some now!!!!
