Keeping my family safe is top priority. We have a bus stop that is half a mile away and no matter what age my kids are I will wait there in the morning to see them off to school. And when they come home I will be at the bus stop. It only takes a minute for a stranger to talk to your child into getting in the car with them, and this is my way of preventing this from ever happening.

My kids also use the internet a lot. There are a few ways my husband and I use to keep them safe. First we give them small time frames that they are allowed to be online for such as an hour or two. This prevents them from getting bored and surfing the internet for trouble. We also have a rule that mom and dad have all passwords to any of their accounts. And last we keep an eye on them from time to time while they are online.

Identity theft is scary. I had my wallet stolen from me a few years back while I was shopping for grocery’s. I never even saw it happen. I must have turned around long enough for the thief to grab it out of my purse and just walk away.  A couple years later we moved and I went to get telephone service in my name and they said I had a bill in some town I never lived in.  Right there I knew my identity was stolen. It took me some time to realize how this could have happen.
