My Amwell Online Doctors Visits For An Earache – Review

This is a sponsored post with Momtrends and Amwell. All opinions are my own.

I think most of us can agree that going to the Dr. isn’t fun. It’s actually something I not only avoid way too much, but I dislike it even more when I am sick and don’t feel up to going.

Not until recently did I know I could see a doctor online. Until I heard about Amwell, and I was very excited especially since I dread the Dr’s office. This is amazing to me and will save me so much time and money. Also I have been having a terrible earache and once again have avoided the Dr.’s office. So I thought this is the best time if any to check out the service of an online Dr. and share it with you all.

My Amwell Online Doctors Visits For An Earache – Review

First I check them out online and realized I could download the app. So that’s what I opted to do. You can do the same and download the app here.  Just scroll to the bottom of the page for app downloads. You can use Amwell on a cell phone, tablet or computer.  After downloading the app I had a few important questions that took a minute or 2. Next I was able to choose any Dr. I wanted to see from the list of available doctors who are licensed in my state. Amwell Doctors can diagnose us, treat and even prescribe medication if we need it! All over a secure video call.

Once signed up and after checking out the Dr’s I chose to see Dr. Sherri DeHaas who has 14 years in practice. She was very nice and easy to talk to. She seemed very noligible. She went ahead and prescribed me Penicillin for a possible ear infection. She also let me know that if it did not start to get better within 48 hours I need to follow up.

I was very pleased and excited at the same time. I was able to download the Amwell app, fill out a few questions, choose a Dr., wait a couple minutes for the Dr while she reviewed my information submitted, have an appointment with the Dr. and get medicine sent to the pharmacy all in less than 20 minutes!

I must tell you with Amwell my Dr’s visit was so darn easy. I didn’t have to leave the house or call for an appointment. I didn’t have to worry about picking up another illness from the waiting room. I also didn’t have to worry about being given an appointment a week or more away. I was able to see a Dr. immediately. I am not just saying this. I didn’t have to leave my kitchen table, which is where I work from home. I would highly recommend this service to anyone. Let’s face it – moms don’t have time to be sick, let alone go to the doctor’s office when we should be seen. With Amwell, we can see a doctor right away from the comfort of your own home. No worries of traffic, waiting rooms, or rescheduling. Plus they are available 24/7, with no appointment needed.

After my super short Dr’s visit I received a complete write up of what we talked about, what I was prescribed and her suggestions for treatment. I also love that my prescription will be at the pharmacy within one hour of the appointment. They are able to do this, because at the beginning they ask you to choose your pharmacy, then if during your visit they feel you need medication they can just electronically send it your chosen pharmacy.
