Most recently I had the chance in reviewing a product from www.hammacher.com in exchange for my honest opinion. The, 2X Brighter Cordless Motion Activated Light is a cordless, weatherproof light that brightens decks, patios, or porches with its LEDs which are twice as bright as a normal porch light. Including six ultra-bright LEDs, they produce 72 lumens of glare-free light! Able to produce a wide-angle beam much similar to a floodlight. The 2X Brighter Cordless Motion Activated Light can be easily mounted anywhere your little heart desires. With its included mounting plate and screws, there will be no need for any wiring. It is able to tilt vertically and rotated for any positions you would like light to shine. At night, the motion sensor will turn the light on. The light will turn off when no motion is detected after 30 seconds. It can detect movement from up to 25 feet away.
It takes four C batteries which provides power for up to a year! Amazingly, the LEDs are rated for 100,000 hours! It comes in one color, silver. It’s dimensions are 6″ L x 6″ W x 5″ D, and weighing a small, 1 1/2 Ibs.
A nice, small porch light like this is something that I needed. We do have a some-what porch light out back of my house, but it isn’t the brightest. When my son goes to take the trash out it is hard for him to see where he is going because it is so dark out at night. With the 2X Brighter Cordless Motion Activated Light’s wide-angle lighting it is easy for him to see. As well, if he or my husband is out late working on the car or truck. It’s bright light can shine on them when they need it.
Where I live we have coyotes and crocodiles and bears, and having the motion sensor is easy to detect what is outside. Whether it be an animal or person.
It was very easy to set up, I had my husband screw it on the outside of our screened-in porch. So it shines into the yard out back. With its rotating ability I can rotate it to see certain areas of the yard.
Here it rained for about 2 weeks in a row, and the 2X Brighter Cordless Motion Activated Light is weatherproof so it withstood all the rain. And it yet still shined bright. I highly recommend this modified porch light to anyone, it is worth it’s price, and is very durable, yet such a small light can produce such a big shine.
