Ok so you just came out of your local shopping center and your headed to load your bags in the car. Excited about your new finds and then you see you beautiful car, pop the trunk and load your bags. You go to get into your car and there it is a door ding. To some this may not seem like a big deal, but that small ding could cause a rust spot later on. Plus a car cost a lot of money, and if your anything like me you love your car and the beauty of it all.
This is one of my biggest pet peeves, especially when children are riding their bikes around a vehicle and scratch it up. I know it’s an accident. But these are very expensive accidents. It’s hard to come out of work, the store, the house or where ever you are, to find your car has been dinged, scratched, dented, or otherwise damaged by someone else’s car door, runaway shopping cart, or even a bicycle. Lone Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep San Antonio and associates want to see you keep your new car looking at good as it was when you first purchase it.
So, how can we avoid these dreaded parking lot door dings
Number one always park in the farthest spot. It will not only hopefully save you from a door ding, but also great exercise. Parking as far away as possible from other vehicles is not very convenient, but it’s so much better to have more space around your vehicle if you want to avoid door dings. Don’t forget to make sure you are parked within the lines of the parking space to keep as far away from near by vehicles that could be parked correctly.
Sometimes if you park at the end cap spots in a parking lot, they are usually wider and can help you to avoid dings as well. Also don’t park near old rusted vehicles and cars full of dents and dings.
After parking in a parking lot with lots of other cars always open your door slowly, this will greatly avoid swinging your door into other cars, curbs, rails, and even walls nearby the parking area.
If you are not aware, online you can find several different car door protection which can also help against door dings.
Another option is to cover your car especially if you don’t have a garage to park your car. Just crab a nice high-quality car cover. This will greatly stop door dings, from things such as frisbees, basketballs and other swinging car doors. This is a great options for neighborhoods. .
Keep in mind the occasional door ding could happen, being aware of your surroundings at all times may just help to lessen your chances of getting dinged.
