Creative Ways To Stay Hydrated This Summer

Summer is here, and staying hydrated should always be number on your list especially during the hot months. If we are not properly hydrated our physical performance can suffer greatly. Summertime heat can put you at risk of heat illnesses if you don’t take the proper precautions. Whether you’re inside or outside, you should be aware of the heat and humidity and how your body is reacting to it. Keeping on track doesn’t have to be a big deal. You can make simple changes that will remind you to drink more water or eat more fruits that contain lots of water. Simple change could be as little as leaving yourself post-it notes on the desk, the fridge, in the car and more.

Speak With A Amwell Doctor: Let’s face it, most of us moms just don’t have the time to see a Dr. to ask a few questions about things such as hydration. However important it may be we may keep putting it of. Getting sick can even be tougher to go to the doctor’s office. With Amwell, you are able to see a doc right away without leaving the house. No worries of traffic, waiting rooms, or rescheduling.  All you need is smartphone, tablet or computer to see a doctor via Amwell. American Well (Amwell) is positioning itself to be ‘the Amazon of health care’. This is amazing to me and will save me so much time and money. Use Amwell to see a doctor anytime on your iPhone or iPad. Amwell brings healthcare home, so that you and your family can feel better, faster. Doctors on Amwell are board certified, with an average of 15 years in practice. Plus Amwell doctors are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are dedicated to keeping us healthy with no appointment needed? I think most of us can agree that going to the Dr. isn’t fun. It’s actually something I not only avoid way too much, but I dislike it even more when I am sick and don’t feel up to going. I would much rather see one from the comfort of my home. Try Amwell today for only $1 for your first visit by using this code TELEVISIT43.

Some good alternative sources of water include:

  1. Water: Water as we all know is absolutely one of the best ways to stay hydrated or to re hydrate your body. It’s good for your skin, hydrates your muscles, and has no calories! You should drink at the least eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day.
  2. Soup
  3. Watermelon
  4. Cucumbers
  5. Smoothies made with fruit
  6. Fruit and vegetable infused water
  7. Flavored water
  8. Drink coconut water
  9. Drink diluted fruit juices. If you can’t do a lot of water for whatever reason. Try enjoying diluted fruit juices. Always choose natural, 100% juice options with no added sugar or artificial sweeteners.
  10. Make your own fruit popsicles

I was very pleased and excited at the same time. I was able to download the Amwell app, fill out a few questions, choose a Dr., wait a couple minutes for the Dr while she reviewed my information, and before I knew it she was right there to answer my questions.

Reason why many people choose Amwell or the tradition Drs. office visit:

Lower cost. Consumers expect online visits to be cost-savers; with in-office visits costing, on average, $82 for first-time patients according to the Healthcare Blue Book, Amwell offers a $49 physician visit – a savings of $33. Great option for students in college looking for cost-effective healthcare or those between jobs and without insurance.

Accessibility.  After hours, on weekends and in the middle of the night (24/7/365) availability. Great for those who do have transportation or when you don’t feel well enough to drive and those who are newly relocated and don’t have providers yet.

Convenience. Consumers are looking for a faster appointment. Now they don’t need to schedule an appointment nor do they need to wait to be seen, especially if on vacation or business travel. The doctor can be seen from the comfort and convenience of their own home.

Quick prescriptions. Consumers would rather have an online video visit than an in-office visit to obtain common primary care prescriptions.

Peace of mind. Rather than self-diagnosing or visiting a social forum for medical advice, users can obtain second opinions directly from board certified, licensed doctors.

After my super short Dr’s visit using the Amwell app, I received answers to all of my questions and concerns. General conditions Amwell doctors encounter include: minor illnesses and injuries, general health and wellness concerns, prescription refills, and chronic condition management.
