No meals will ever be complete without desserts, especially when your kids are present at the table. What makes it better is if you make your own desserts with some help from your little bakers. Finding the appropriate recipe is crucial to ensuring that you and your potential superstar bakers have a good time. So, bring out the rainbow sprinkles and invite the kids to help you in the kitchen to prepare these delightful treats together.

Puppy Chow

If your children are one of those peanut butter enthusiasts, puppy chow, or often known as muddy buddies, will definitely be a hit! These sweets are very customisable and may be prepared with your favourite sugary toppings. The kids may need some little help with warming up the chocolate chips, but other than that, the process is quite simple.

Ingredients:

A box of Rice Chex Cereal

One bag of semi-sweet chocolate chip cookies

¾ cup of peanut butter

½ of unsalted butter

One teaspoon of vanilla extract

Powdered sugar (as much as desired)

How to prepare:

  1. Add a box of rice Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl and set it aside.
  2. Combine all chocolate chips, peanut butter and unsalted butter in a large microwaveable bowl and heat it in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Once melted, put a teaspoon of vanilla essence into the mix and stir together.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture into the large mixing bowl containing the cereal and mix it gently until everything is coated.
  5. Add the powdered sugar and mix well before serving.

The Original Ice Cream Sandwiches

Ice cream has been the ultimate dessert of all time. Other than the choco nutter pound cake ice cream, you can also recreate ice cream into some effortless ice cream sandwiches. The kids may need some help with baking, though it will only need around 10 minutes. After that, they should be able to put the ice cream and cookies together on their own. Even adults will find this dish to be highly addicting!

Ingredients:

1 chocolate cake mix packet

½ cup of softened butter

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

2 eggs

½ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

½ cup bag of butterscotch chips

½ gallon softened vanilla ice cream

How to Prepare:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 °F and grease the baking sheets lightly.
  2. Combine the cake mix, butter, vanilla essence, eggs, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips in a large mixing bowl until it becomes a dough. Roll the dough to form 2-inch balls and arrange them on the greased baking sheets.
  3. Bake the dough in the oven for approximately 10 minutes. It’s important not to overbake the cookies; they should be firm yet soft when removed from the oven. Allow the cookies to cool slightly for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
  4. Shape the softened ice cream into a small ball roughly the size of the cookies with an ice cream scoop. Place the ice cream ball between two cookies and gently press them together to form a small sandwich.
  5. Fill all of the cookies quickly, arrange them neatly on a baking sheet, and set them in the fridge to freeze. Enjoy the sandwiches when the ice cream has set.

Mini Oreo Cheesecakes

These small treats contain such velvety Mars bar cheesecake filling nestled between the Oreo biscuits. They’re super easy to make with only four ingredients in total. Make these in batches as your go-to tasty finger food for your next snack time, or heat these fast in your air fryer when your kids have sugar cravings.

Ingredients:

10 pieces of original Oreo cookies

250 g of chopped cream cheese, at room temperature

1 large egg (to be whisked gently)

2 packs of chopped Mars chocolate bar

How to prepare:

  1. Align ten small muffin cups and put them aside. Split the Oreo cookies in half with a small knife, then place half of the cookie halves in the muffin cups, with their cream upwards.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the cream cheese with a hand mixer until it’s smooth. Mix in the egg until everything is properly blended.
  3. Put the Mars chocolate bar in a microwaveable bowl and microwave it for at least 45 seconds or until it melts. Stir until the mixture is nearly smooth. Toss the melted chocolate into the cream cheese mixture. Mix everything together until it’s well combined.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 160°F. Fill each muffin cup with two tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture, then place the Oreo halves on top with cream downwards.
  5. Transfer to the air fryer basket with care—Bake for about 8 minutes in batches or until the cookies are set.
