Not too long ago I had the chance in reviewing the new video game from the creators of Halo and the publisher of Call of Duty, from Activision, Blizzard, and Bungie, “Destiny” for PS3.

Destiny PS3 Game Review

“Destiny”, is an ambitious evolution of the first-person action genre that brings gamers together in a shared, persistent world. This new video game is poised to become the next advancement in interactive entertainment by melding first-person action gaming with a persistent, dynamic online world.

Destiny combines Bungie’s trademark grand scope, sci-fi storytelling and adventures with visceral first-person action gaming that takes place in an unfolding cinematic universe. This game as well offers a unique social gaming experience to consoles by giving players a connected, living world that they can explore, combined with vibrant social spaces where they can congregate and celebrate achievements, and share remarkable adventures grouped with friends or solo.

All my kids are hardcore gamers, from ages 9 to 17 to 21 they all have been deep in gaming and have been up with the next latest  games that they like. My oldest son and daughter were especially excited about this game. They were so interested in the consent social and online play. When they finally played it they both agreed it was different compared to the first-person games they’ve played. The sci-fi genre is something my daughter hasn’t really played games in. She loved this game. It’s whole story line is great. It is set in the distant future, and casts players as Guardians of the last city on Earth, who will traverse the ancient ruins of our solar system from the red dunes of Mars to the lush jungles of Venus. Gamers are able to create a guarding and pick type of Guardian, either a Hunter, Titan, or Warlock. Each with different powers and abilities and armor. You can even customize your Guardian  to your liking when you first start, you can be either female or male, a human, Awoken, or Exo. You can change hair color, eye color, skin, color, etc. Make it your very own Guardian that will stop the Darkness!

Players are able to wield incredible powers, and must battle humanity’s enemies and reclaim all that was lost during the collapse of mankind’s Golden Age. Destiny’s saga unfolds through grand tales and sweeping adventures by immersing gamers in a bold new world filled with cooperative, competitive, public, and social activities, all seamlessly connected.

The graphics of this game are great and vibrant and take you to a whole new experiencing level as you venture throughout the game. Explore Old Russia on Earth defeating the Fallen, and go to the Moon being put up against enemies that are bigger and badder than before. Then off to Venus to fight the Vex, and to Mars to battle the Cabal. Each planet giving you a whole new setting and tools to work with.

My daughter loves this game, everywhere you go you’re online, whether it be at the tower encrypting new gear, and talking to your vanguard or on Venus fighting off the Vex, its full of other online players. What she really liked is that there is this section on each planet that lets you patrol it. Doing side missions, and when you’re in game and you’ve gotten yourself into something you can’t handle other players are near and can hoover over on their Sparrow and help out. You can even party up with other players and create a Fireteam to take on enemies and missions together.

She enjoys leveling up and finding rare and legendary gear. And this game isn’t just an online campaign game, you can actually play a multiplayer mode where you and other players are put on teams and either capture points and defend them against the opponents or terminate them in a death match.

This game is full of so many features, and players unlock more new cool, guns, and gear, for their Guardians getting more powerful to battle up against each other or against the enemies.
