Disney's The BFG Review

There has been quite a lot, and I mean a lot of movies soon to release and ones that have been out for years that are based off of books. Sometimes movies like that are a blessing and a curse, because fans of the book are hoping for an amazing movie that’ll bring their favorite characters to life. However, sometimes, some movies don’t necessarily depict the book so well and fans are let down. But with the newest movie, The BFG, fans of the popular children’s book with the same name, published back in 1982 will not be disappointed.

I loved this book as a kid. I read it in school, it was so fun as a kid to imagine certain scenes happening in my mind as I read the book time and time again. But now, as an adult, I can finally see and experience one of my favorite childhood books come to life.

For those who are not familiar with the book, The BFG, here’s a little summary of what both the book and movie are about:

A little orphan girl, Sophie becomes odd friends with a quite large creature that goes by the name of Big Friendly Giant. He takes her on an adventure that reaches the tree tops, but soon some consequences arise, and they work together with a new friend to demolish the problem. It is a tale filled with magic, wonder, and unexpected friendship.

I had the opportunity in reviewing a the new BLU-RAY & DVD + Digital HD Copy of Disney’s The BFG, This is truly an instant classic, that’ll bring back memories of many and surely make new ones for many. My daughter and I loved this movie so much, it was everything we had expected. During the movie I could hear her gasp from remembering certain things in the book,and now she was really seeing them happen. My youngest son is is entirely new to The BFG, and loved the movie! He is more of an action movie lover, but this movie caught his eye. With Christmas right around the corner, this would be a great gift for anyone, especially those familial with the book the BFG.

The version I had the chance to review includes a lot of bonus extras;
