DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about what to give that special someone.

Valentine’s Day is the day of love, the chance to show your significant other just how much they mean to you. Feeling a little stuck about what gift to give? Don’t worry that’s where we come in.

Instead of turning up with a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates, why not make something yourself? By putting time and effort into creating a homemade gift, you can show your loved one, just how much they mean to you. Of course, you can always buy them another present too, but a homemade gift is the perfect way to say “I love you”.

To help you come up with the best Valentine’s Day gift ideas, we have put together a list of ideas for DIY gifts below:

  1. Sweet Jars

Pick out three clear, sweet shop style glass jars and fill each one with your partner’s favorite sweets. Tie a piece of ribbon around the neck of the jar and stick on a cute, personalized label.

For the tag title, you could add some fun to it by creating a play on words. For example, if your loved ones favorite sweet treat is peanut brittle. You could fill a jar with peanut brittle and add a personalized label with “I am nuts about you” written on it.

  1. Snow Globe

That’s right; snow globes are not just for Christmas. Why not make your loved one their very own Valentine’s Day snow globe? It’s super romantic and very easy to do.

To create your own Valentine’s snow globe, you will need an empty jar with a screw top, and heart-shaped decorations, a glue gun from glue guns direct, and snow powder. Use the glue gun to attach the heart shaped decorations to the lid of the jar. Fill an eighth of the jar with fake, powdered snow. Then, screw the lid on, complete with the glued on decorations, and turn the jar upside down. There you have your very own Valentine’s Day snow globe.

  1. DIY Mugs

DIY love mugs are the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for a partner who loves drinking tea of coffee. Plus, they are super fun to make and don’t cost too much either.

All you will need is a couple of white cups or mugs and a permanent marker. Start off by giving your mugs a good wash, make sure all dust and dirt has been removed. Otherwise, the markers may not work properly.

Once your mugs are clean and dry, get decorating. Use a permanent marker to write or draw on the mugs – think about cute sayings or memories the two of you have and use them for inspiration. As soon as you have finished decorating your mugs, place them in a pre-heated oven on high for half an hour.

  1. Heart Shaped Cupcakes

Bake your significant other a sweet treat with heart shaped Valentine’s Day cupcakes. To add some more love to your cupcakes, add a splash of red food dye to the mixture and create red velvet cupcakes.
