I have always been a fan of Monopoly, I just love the game. And every time a new version of the great Monopoly game comes out I get so excited. I couldn’t wait to play this game. I planned to gather the family and play this new game on the upcoming weekend.

Remembering what the old rules for Monopoly were I knew pretty much the main concept, put this game had some twists and turns. Which I liked.

The board game included:

  • Game board
  • 4 towers
  • 6 tokens
  • 30 Billboard tiles
  • 6 Office tiles
  • 14 Chance cards
  • 14 Empire cards
  • Money pack
  • 2 Dice
  • Instructions

The game set up was quite easy. All I had to do was shuffle the Chance cards, and put them face down on the board. Shuffle the Empire cards and set those face down on the board as well. Then put the 30 Billboard tiles on the corresponding brand spaces on the board. Next I had to put the 4 Electric Company tiles on their matching spaces, as well as the Water Works tiles. Then I had to put the 6 Office tiles and the 2 dice next to the board, or just set them aside. Also, I had to give each player 1 tower, 1 token, 1,000k, and 2 Empire cards. And lastly a banker had to be chosen. Of course I was the banker. Haha!

The instructions for the game were simple enough to follow through out the game. Roll the die, if you get the sneaky swapper you have the ability to switch the topmost billboard in one tower with the topmost billboard in any other tower. Next, move your token however many spaces that was shown on the die. When you land on a brand space that is unowned you can either buy it or auction it. If the space is owned you must pay the owner the current value of their tower.

If you land on the Utilities you either buy a billboard and pay the bank 150k or the banker must auction a billboard. If you land on a Tower Tax you have to return your topmost billboard to the board, if you land on a Rival Tower Tax you can return another player’s topmost billboard to the board.

Landing on the Empire space will allow you to take the top Empire card on the deck and do whatever it says, once you have played it, return the card to the bottom of the pile. Same with the Chance cards, if one of the cards say, ‘Get Out Of Jail Free’ card keep it until you need it or sell it to another player.

Easy as that. As the game starts going it is very fun, and even though the concept is a little different than the original Monopoly, it still retains parts of the regular game. Teens, and adults will enjoy this game. Great for get-togethers, small parties, or just some family fun. My family and I loved this game. Us bickering and laughing at certain points was enjoyable. I really liked the tokens that the game came with, the Coca Cola bottle and Xbox controller were very cool. I can’t wait to plan to play this game again!

I highly recommend this game to any Monopoly lovers and anyone!

  2. On monopoly empire if your opponent uses a reverse card for the property rent and you use a just say no card do your opponent have to pay the rent still???? Please help us

  3. My family…..especially the younger kids…is loving this game. Yes, the rules are a little vague, but hey we have house rules for the original game so we are starting to create some for this one as well. This version doesn’t last as long as the original which is great for my younger children who get bored after an hour or two. I think it is permanently on our game night list for a while.

  4. apparently the rules aren’t as simple as we want them to be. apparently, you can buy as many utilities as you want at the same time, apparentl you can use a just say no on a rival tower tax and apparently I don’t know the english language. at th emoment i hate this game.

  5. My son and I are arguing about what exactly “topmost” means. Was wondering if anyone could help. When you get the small swap option do you take the billboard at the top or the one of most money value?
