Tampa Bay’s Newest Horror Park Scream-A-Gedddon 2016

Scream-A-Gedddon compensated our trip to Scream-A-Gedddon 2016 in exchange for my honest opinion. Regardless all views and opinions are 100% my own.

It’s that time of year again, fall! Chilly weather, pumpkin carving, scary movies, trick ‘or’ treating, spooky decorations and of course haunted houses! My favorite part about Halloween is all the haunted houses! There are so many, small local ones, or big themed ones. As the years go by, Halloween is being pushed more towards younger children, there are more activities for young kids than older ones. Even thought it’s great for the whole family to have fun, anyone over the age of 15 might want to do something more this holiday, such as going to a haunted house attraction.

Scream-A-Gedddon 2016

Just a few nights ago, my husband and I and our 2 kids who absolutely love scary things and horror movies went to a haunted attraction called Scream-A-Geddon Tampa Bay’s Newest Horror Park! Located in Dade City, Florida. Scream-A-Geddon has been voted the best new comer by USA’S Best Haunted Houses. Scream-A-Geddon has 6 haunted attractions, 3 haunted houses, haunted woods trail, cursed hay ride, and Monster Midway with games, food and drinks!
We were so excited to go to Scream-A-Geddon, I have been to a couple haunted attractions before, and it was time for something new. What’s awesome is this place is in the middle of woods which already makes it feel a little creepy. After we handed them our tickets there was no turning back, as soon was we walked in we saw a bloody, clown girl oddly walking towards us giggling. We cautiously made our way to the first house; Black Pool Prison.

Black Pool Prison which is new for 2016. This was where they sent the truly horrible criminals, high security for the worst of the worst, At least until the blackout. The prisoners rioted, once they had control, they realized they had nowhere else to go. Now the inmates control the prison, and the only way to get out alive is through them.

This house along with one other, is an interactive house. Meaning you can choose to wear a glowing necklace to immerse yourself into the mayhem. Choosing to wear a glowing necklace, you are consenting to have the actors in the house, touch you, grab you, pull you away from your group, put you in secret rooms, or have you remain in one spot as your friends go ahead of you. If you get too scared, you can quickly take the necklace off and the actors will back off. But as long as you are wearing it they can still grab you. My daughter was going to wear the glow necklace, but changed her mind at the last second. This house was so original and freaky! The house looked amazing, from what I could see aside from all the fog and darkness, it felt like I was actually in a prison outbreak, I could hear sirens from the alarm of the prison, screaming and yelling. The actors were so good, they went all out. They jumped out and got all in our face, yelling at us forcing us to tell them where the guards where and how to get out. We survived and as we left, a guy behind us was wearing a glowing necklace, he didn’t take it off as he exited the house so one of the inmates grabbed him and dragged him back in! It was crazy, and we LOVED it!
After that first house we were hooked! We couldn’t wait for the next ones! My son who is 11 years old loves scary movies, and has always wanted to go to a really scary haunted house attraction, not the little kiddy ones, so after going through a real, good haunted house he was thrilled. He said it was the funnest thing he has ever done.
As we made our way to the next house, Bedlam 3D there were people dressed up walking up behind us and scaring us. Some we thought were regular people until they turned around, so we weren’t sure who was going to scare us at any given moment.

Bedlam 3D could be thought of as a pandemonium and anarchy, but you could also say that it is immersion in the chaos of the unknown. The clown and fiends that fill Bedlam 3D will terrorize you, chase you and try to consume your flesh.

They gave us 3D glasses giving us an amazing experience. This house was like a bad nightmare, where you want out but there just seems to be no door. There was a tunnel that felt like it was turning as we tried walking, it was so freaky and the illusion was out of this world. There was this one area where we were stuck, there were things hanging from the ceiling making it hard for us to tell which way was which, the clown woman in there directed us to where the exit was but it was a dead end! Then she pointed to another place laughing all crazy like, but she talked us into a dark corner! We were afraid we would never escape the on going nightmare! Finally we made it out! That was yet another amazing house!

We took a quick break and went to the Monster Midway, took some pictures of the monsters walking around, checked out some cool merchandise, and we had some tasty food; Lemonade and fried oreos! They have picnic tables all over and bonfires that help set the ery mood. I tried taking pictures of my son and husband together but that bloody clown girl was back and photobombed the picture!

Next up was the Cursed Hay Ride. We weren’t sure what to expect, we watched as people climbed up steps to sit in the back of a large wagon and drove off into the dark woods. When it was our turn to go we were on edge, and not sure what was going to happen. In The Cursed Hay Ride the residents of a town cursed with immortality have wanted to die for years, but their attempts to reach the afterlife have been in vain. In order to escape their never-ending torture they must replace their souls with yours.. Ride the wagon through Cursed Hay Ride and witness the horrifying sights and sounds of the doomed souls, but remember they want your life and your soul..
This attraction was so freaky and it made us jump! While we rode our way through the dark woods a voice from the speaker was telling us the story of the cursed town. We would hear screams, and chainsaws, then we would drive through a barn and would hope the driver wouldn’t stop but he did! Once the lights turned on, the things we saw were unspeakable…
We rode more and we heard a chainsaw behind us, and it kept getting closer and closer and to our surprise someone was on a zip line flying above our heads making us all scream in shock and horror!
Finally, we reached the cursed town, it was an old town, there was a bank, a saloon, and sheriffs station. There was a part where burglars robbed a bank and the sheriff and them had a shoot out between us!
After the Cursed Hay Ride, we weren’t done yet, we were going back into the woods for the Dead Woods haunted attraction. I was not too thrilled to be walking through the pitch black woods with nothing but a little glow stick to light my way, and very dimly lit candles on the trail. But we LOVED it!!
The Dead Woods is in a small corner of Bearstone National Park, which is avoided by locals, because they know they story of the Tate family who have called these woods home for five generations. The Tates have guarded their land fiercely ever since the Federal Government claimed it for the national park. Isolated for decades, the only folks to see the Tates these days are the unlucky travelers who experience car trouble or lose their way. To find your way out of the Dead Woods you will have to navigate through the wooded trail, discovering different members of the Tate family in their cabins, workshops and outhouses. But, if you happen to encounter the Tate brothers, you will wish you had stayed on the main roads…
The Dead Woods was incredibly scary. It was like every horror movie ever; being left in the dark woods with cannibals! We came across their cabins and the Tate family wanted nothing more than our flesh! They saw my little son and saw him as a tasty appetizer, and they wanted to wear my daughter’s face! We saw victims chained up being ready to be eaten for dinner, some were even still alive on the cutting board. I couldn’t wait to get out of the Dead Woods before I was put into a stew! Not really, I wanted to stay forever and enjoy the fun of all the fear and scares this place had to offer.

Last but not least was Infected. The second interactive attraction. This time my daughter decided to wear the glowing necklace to become part of the attraction…
Shortly after the landing of a large meteorite in a farmer’s cornfield, and unexplained phenomenon began to make the locals act…rather peculiar. Reports of their aggressive and irrational behavior caught the attention of the authorities and a special government containment team was deployed to study, analyze and quarantine. Not long after deployment, communications were lost and the team’s fate is unknown. Try to control your terror as you weave your way through the fields, military tents, and the farmhouse to confront the creatures within. Will you be the next infected?
I was getting scared for my daughter, thinking about all the things they could do to her while she wore that glowing necklace. But it was the last house and she wanted nothing more than to be really in the attraction. I swear as soon as the actors saw that necklace, their eyes lit up, they grabbed my daughters arms, got up super close to her, poked her, tickled her, chased her and pushed her. There was one point within Infected where the containment tents were set up in a maze and there were infected scientists and troops behind us and in front of us, my daughter freaked and abandoned us and ran the other way, where she was chased by the infected until we finally met up again at the end. After we made it out alive I asked how was it? She was out of breath but completely loved it! She said it was like really being in a horror movie, where there’s no way to turn and you have to run having that experience of being grabbed and touched added so much of a great effect to the house. She recommends everyone try it at least once, even if you are terrified. She said for people who truly want that horror movie experience and have it feel like your are actually in it, this is for you. She wishes she did it with Black Pool Prison too, but we ran out of time.
Scream-A-Geddon is such an amazing haunted attraction that I recommend everyone go to! The prices are super affordable, and everything you get for that price is so so worth it! Don’t wait, have the scare of your life at Scream-A-Geddon. Can you survive the prison outbreak, or the 3D nightmare? Or the woods full of cannibals? How about the cornfields with infected lingering around?
