Most recently I had the pleasure on reviewing a great game by Activision for Nintendo 3DS, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” Being released alongside the Sony Pictures film, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is an all-new-third-person action-adventure video game that builds on the story of the previous game with an alternative take on the events of the movie, all the while giving the game players a chance to free-roam and experience New York City.
Through this web-slinging journey, Spider-Man will come across some new enemies and run into old friends on the way. This great game offers some nice features such as the Greatly Enhanced Manhattan Cityscape. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 brings some new life to Manhattan, reinvigorating the dense, urban playground with brighter, cleaner visuals and new location to venture. This game has more open environments to explore and do side missions on. The new Hero or Menace system rewards players who tackles crime on the streets like a true Super Hero, with consequences fro those who let criminality fester.
This new game also gives players a greatly bigger access to new challenges, new stealth-based mission, new abilities like dodge, roll, and critical strike attacks that make fighting enemies more dynamic and exciting. Spider-Man’s arsenal is more robust than ever, introducing new suits each with their own cool perks and upgrades.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game takes place outside the events of the second film in a unique narrative where Spider-Man discovers a much larger threat to NYC that has turned the under world, upside down. Villains featured in the movie as well as fan favorite Marvel characters are woven together in a twisted web of adrenalie-fueled, free-roaming, web-slinging action-packed game that puts players right in a collision course with an evil far beyond Spider-Man’s existence.
Boy, this game is truly action packed and if you are a fan of Spider-Man, the movies, games and comics, get ready for this new game that will have your webbly stuck to it. Tying its game events to the movie you won’t miss a beat. My youngest son who is simply obsessed with Spider-Man had to help me review this game. He played it for hours. He loves the controls, the new missions, and characters. It adds a whole new view of Spider-Man. His favorite thing about this game was being able to free-roam around web-slinging from building to building in the big New York City. He also loved the cool new suits that not only looked rad but had their very own perks to help Spidey in everyday combat.
