Recently I had the chance to try out the Griffin Survivor iPad Case. I have heard a lot about this case and it’s said to be the perfect case for protecting your iPad. Griffin also states this is the most protective case they have made.

When I first opened the box I notice right away how bulky the case was which is good because that’s added protection. Getting it apart to place on my iPad was difficult and took a few minutes. This is a 3 piece case with 2 plastic pieces and 1 rubber piece. Plus a bonus piece as the stand. The front piece is like a hard plastic cover and screen protector.  Touch screen works well and doesn’t seem to impair touch function unless I am using a my Jot Pro or Joy Classic stylus. While using only using the Jot stylus I notice the screen it’s not as sensitive to touch, but  any other stylus I have tried works just fine.

As far as the buttons and ports, they are all covered and easily assessable by rubber flaps. the rear camera is covered also by rubber flap that appears to be sealed nicely. If you want to use the camera you open the flap and hold it open with one hand and take the picture with your other. My charger and headphone also fit well with out having to remove the case which is a plus.

Despite some very minor flaws in my opinion this is a solid well built case that’s perfect for protecting your expensive iPad. And with all this thick rubber and added flaps this case protects the iPad from rain and wind, shocks and drops, blown sand and dust and vibration. You can purchase this case at www.griffintechnology.com.

A little about the Griffin case: Tested and certified to meet or exceed US Department of Defense Standard 810F, Griffin’s Survivor Military-Duty Case is designed from the inside out to protect your iPad from extreme conditions … dirt, sand, rain, shock, vibration and a host of other environmental factors.

Survivor is built on a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame clad in rugged, shock absorbing silicone. A built-in screen protector seals your Multi-Touch display from the outside environment, while hinged plugs seal the dock connector, camera lens, headphone port, hold switch and volume controls. The included stand clips on, then folds open for landscape viewing and typing.
