Mother’s Day and May Showers, Kyocera Hydro Vibe is Coming to Sprint and Virgin Mobile

Spring is  here for some of us keeps us, while others are still waiting for the warm days of summer. During this time smartphones endure many seasonal dangers like rain, snow, puddles, curbside streams and parking lot ponds.  For us moms, this is just a few of challenges we go through with our smartphones, including toilet drops, sink dunks, bath time, cereal spills, spit up and more.

Kyocera Hydro Vibe

Well just in time for Mother’s Day, Kyocera has announced the new Hydro Vibe waterproof Android smartphone, coming to Sprint this Friday, May 9.  The Hydro Vibe is IP57 certified waterproof up to a meter (3.28 feet) for up to 30 minutes.  It also has an impact-resistant 4.5 inch qHD touchscreen display that sharply shows brilliant colors while avoiding scratches, nicks and cracks. Which is just what us moms and dads on the go need!

Hydro Vibe also has a beautiful 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, and features Near Field Communication (NFC) and PMA wireless charging capabilities.  Running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), it’s powered by a 2,000 mAh battery and utilizes Kyocera proprietary Eco-Mode and MaxiMZR power management apps for longer use. To make sure you don’t miss a word even in the noisiest environments, Hydro Vibe also comes equipped with Kyocera’s award-winning Smart Sonic Receiver technology as well as High-Definition (HD) Voice for clearer calling.

Hydro Vibe also takes advantage of Sprint Spark in markets where available, an enhanced 4G LTE service for better video and high-bandwidth application performance.  The waterproof 4G smartphone will be offered under Sprint Easy Pay, where well-qualified customers can get Hydro Vibe for $0 down (plus tax) and just $9.59/month for 24 months.  For those who prefer a service plan with no contract, Virgin Mobile will also launch Hydro Vibe nationwide on May 27 for just $149.99.
