Starry Lane Bakery Review

The new year is approaching and we all want to make resolutions for the new year. The most popular resolution made is to be more healthy and lose weight, or get into shape. The best way to start is by eating right, right? And of course we all like eating, admit it, we all do. Especially when it comes to baked goods, that is some people’s weakness. But what if I told you that you can’t still have your cookies, and chocolate, but it’s vegan and allergen free. Yes it’s vegan. I know you’re probably thinking, “Ew! Vegan?” Just trust me on this one, and trust Starry Lane Bakery.

Starry Lane Bakery sells vegan and allergen free baked goods. Guaranteed free of gluten, soy, dairy, eggs, tree nuts, and peanuts. When I first heard this I said, “Wait, how can they make baked goods without eggs or dairy products.” But I stood corrected with a mouthful of delicious sweetness.

I currently had the pleasure of trying their Medium Gift Basket with 5 of Starry Lane Baker’s tasty desserts. I was so excited to receive these desserts in the mail and try them. What I got was Caramel Filled Chocolates, Cinnamon Swirls, Coconut Ginger Biscotti, Mocha Curls, Raspberry Ganache Filled Chocolate Christmas Tree, and Sugar Cookies. They all sounded so good. I first tried the Caramel Filled Chocolates. They were in this plastic, rectangle, see through box with a yellow bow on top. The chocolates looked like little candy presents. I liked the caramel in them, but not the chocolate, but thats only because it was dark chocolate. I’m more of a milk chocolate girl, however my two sons absolutely loved them! Next I ate the Cinnamon Swirls. These were in a light blue, rectangle box with a circle of see through plastic so you could see the cookies inside the box. Now these, They were to die for! They were in the shape of little swirls and covered with a hard cinnamon glaze type thing. When you bite into it you have the crunch of the glaze, but the cookie falls apart and just melts in your mouth! The inside was so fluffy and cinnamon-y. They were simply delicious. Thirdly, I had the Coconut Ginger Biscotti. They were wrapped in a see through wrapping with red and green ribbons that closed the top. I dipped the biscotti in my coffee, and let me just say, “YUM!” The taste of the coconut and ginger with my coffee soaked up in it. So, so, so good. Next, I tasted the Mocha Swirls. They also were in a light blue, rectangle box, with a plastic see though circle so you could see the cookies inside. These cookie were dipped in dark chocolate on one half and the half was just cookie. Again, I wasn’t much of a fan of the dark chocolate but the combination of the cookie taste and dark chocolate, I actually liked it. Plus there was the Raspberry Ganache Filled Chocolate Christmas Tree. It came in pretty green wrapping. Once more, the dark chocolate this time was too much. But of course my two sons wanted a taste and just devoured the chocolate Christmas tree. And last, but not least, I ate the Sugar Cookies. They too were in a plastic wrapping with a red and green ribbon to close the top. And they were shaped into little ginger bread guys with a brown icing with little white icing dots for buttons on the ginger bread guys. When you bite into it the inching is hard and crunchy but the cookie is soft and tasty!
I was so very surprised that I liked almost all the desserts. And to think that they were all vegan, it’s crazy every time I think about it. I really liked this basket because there’s something there for everyone!

  1. I have several allergies none to food that we are aware of yet but I think I’m getting more sensitive to different foods as I get older and have thought about trying gluten free.
